PC², an acronym for Programming Contest Control, is a software system designed to manage computer programming contests.

The project started in 1989 with version 1, The (somewhat abridged) History of PC2.

Version 1

1989

Written in Turbo Pascal under MS-DOS using floppy disks (3 1/4") for communication

Version 4

Based on version 1, using network (file server) drive for communication

Version 6

Version 6 Written in Microsoft Visual Basic, using network (file server) drive for communication

Version 7

Version 7 Written in Java (using IBM VisualAge for Java) using RMI for communication

Version 8

Version 8 was written in Java (using IBM VisualAge for Java) using RMI for communication

Version 9

Version 9 is written in Java (using eclipse) using Sockets for communication
